AAT Exam Dates 2026: Booking, Results and Level 4 Deadlines
Plan AAT assessments in 2026, including on-demand booking, result times and the Q2022 Level 4 registration deadline.
Updated for 2026: Most AAT unit assessments are booked when you are ready through an approved training provider or assessment venue, rather than on four fixed global exam dates.
Are there fixed AAT exam dates?
AAT assessments are computer based. Unit assessments are generally available on demand, subject to the timetable and capacity of your chosen provider or assessment venue. Your study provider should agree when you are ready and explain its booking lead time.
The main exception students need to plan carefully is the Level 2 Business Environment synoptic assessment. AAT publishes assessment availability and your provider must schedule it within the relevant window.
Important 2026 dates
31 August 2026 is the final registration date for the Q2022 Level 4 Diploma in Professional Accounting. Students registered on that qualification have until 31 July 2028 to complete assessments.
The new Level 4 Diploma for Professional Accounting Technicians opens for first teaching and registration on 1 September 2026. Its assessments become available in phases from September 2026 to January 2027, so students should not assume every new unit can be sat immediately.
How to choose an assessment date
Choose a date after you can complete a timed mock without notes and explain your errors. Leave time for revision and for the venue's booking process. Tax students should also confirm that their learning materials match the Finance Act used by their assessment.
- Confirm the exact qualification and unit in MyAAT.
- Ask the venue about availability, fees, identification and rescheduling rules.
- Check whether the assessment is available remotely or must be sat at a centre.
- Work backwards from the date to schedule mocks and final revision.
When will results be available?
Result timing depends on how the assessment is marked. Wholly computer-marked assessments are normally much faster than assessments that include human marking. Use AAT's current results-and-fees table for the unit-specific timeframe.
