ACCA Remote Exams in 2026: What Changed and Where You Can Still Sit Them
ACCA has withdrawn remote exams in countries where it has exam centres. Remote is now a fallback for countries with no centre provision, and existing remote tokens work until they expire.
Many ACCA students planned to sit exams from home, so ACCA's change has caused confusion. ACCA's exam availability page says: "We have withdrawn remote exams in countries where we have exam centre provision." For session exams, ACCA's FAQs say all exams will be held in centres from March 2026, except in countries where ACCA has no centre provision. This guide sets out what ACCA publishes about the change, what happens to remote tokens you already hold, and what we could not confirm about which countries still offer remote exams. For the formats generally see our ACCA computer-based exams guide and ACCA exams from home guide, which describes remote exams as they were before this change.

What ACCA has said
ACCA's FAQs on the limited availability of remote exams say that from March 2026 all ACCA session exams are held in centres, except in countries where ACCA has no exam centre provision. ACCA's exam availability page says remote exams have been withdrawn in countries where it has centres. In effect, remote is now a fallback for countries without centre provision.
Remote on-demand tokens
ACCA's FAQs say remote on-demand tokens can no longer be bought, except in countries with no centre provision. The FAQ gives 4 November as the date from which purchase stopped, but the page we read did not make the year clear, so check the year on the live page. Tokens you already hold continue to work until they expire.
Voucher and booking rules
For remote on-demand exams, ACCA's FAQs say vouchers expire six months after purchase and the earliest sitting is seven days after booking. You can reschedule up to 48 hours before the start. Our guide to ACCA exam cancellation and refund rules sets out the refund rules.
Rules that still apply to remote exams
Where remote exams remain, ACCA's terms say you cannot use the on-screen calculator in remote on-demand exams from 1 March 2026. You may have two sheets of scrap paper, destroyed on camera at the end, and VPNs are prohibited. Our guide to ACCA exam day rules covers ID and permitted items.
Which countries still offer remote
We could not confirm a definitive list. ACCA's availability table shows remote for many countries, but the part we read also showed remote entries for some countries that have centres, which appears inconsistent with ACCA's wording. We read only part of the table, so do not rely on our reading. Look up your own country on ACCA's availability page and check the booking screen.
What this means for study plans
If you were relying on sitting from home, check your country's status before you enter, and check that a centre is within reach. Book early, because centre capacity may be limited around session dates. Our ACCA exam dates and deadlines lists the session exam dates, and the ACCA fees guide lists costs.
What we could not confirm
We could not confirm what happens to students whose country has centres but who cannot reach one, whether exceptions exist for accessibility, or the on-demand booking rules at licensed centres. ACCA's additional support route is the place to raise access needs, including adjustments.
An older guide
Our ACCA exams from home guide was written for the period when remote and centre exams sat side by side, so read it with this page's dates in mind.
