ACCA Exam Entry: Cancellation, Refund and Rescheduling Rules
ACCA treats cancellations differently for session exams and remote on-demand exams. Before the standard entry deadline your fee is credited, after it fees are not refundable or transferable.
Life gets in the way of exam plans, and ACCA's rules on cancelling depend on the type of exam you booked. According to ACCA's exam entry terms, for a session exam you can cancel in MyACCA before the standard entry deadline and the fee is credited to your account rather than refunded; after the deadline, fees are not refundable or transferable. Remote on-demand exams have their own rules, run through the British Council and ProctorU. This guide sets out what ACCA publishes, where its pages differ, and what we could not confirm for exams booked at licensed centres. For dates see our ACCA exam dates and deadlines, and for costs see the ACCA fees guide.

Session exams before the deadline
ACCA's guidance says that before the standard entry deadline you can cancel the entry in MyACCA. The fee is credited to your ACCA account rather than refunded to your card, and when you book again you pay the price in force at that time. That means a cancelled entry can cost you more if fees have risen, so rebook promptly. Our ACCA fees guide lists the fee types.
Session exams after the deadline
After the standard entry deadline, ACCA's terms and conditions (clause 3.5) say fees are not refundable or transferable, and you cannot move your entry to another session. Treat the standard entry deadline as the last practical date to change your plans. If illness or another serious problem affects you after that date, ACCA publishes a separate route for mitigating circumstances, which you apply for through your portal.
The 14-day window
ACCA's terms (clause 3.2) allow you to cancel after the closing date within 14 days of paying, by raising a case or using the form. The terms state a full refund in that case, while ACCA's portal article describes the request as one that is considered under consumer regulations. We cannot tell you which wording will apply in your case, so if you need to use this window, contact ACCA straight away and keep your payment date.
Remote on-demand exams
For remote on-demand exams, ACCA's FAQs say you can reschedule up to 48 hours before the start time. If you cancel within 14 days of payment, you receive a full refund. Refunds and changes are handled by the British Council, with ProctorU delivering the exam. Vouchers expire six months after purchase, and the earliest you can sit is seven days after booking. These rules apply to on-demand exams taken remotely, and ACCA has limited remote exams since March 2026.
On-demand exams at a licensed centre
ACCA says to check with your licensed centre about moving an on-demand exam that you booked there, and publishes no rule of its own. Because centres set their own booking systems, ask about notice periods and fees before you pay.
What we could not confirm
We could not confirm the fee amounts that apply to each cancellation, a deadline for adjustments to on-demand exams, or how ACCA treats entries in the final days before the closing date. None of ACCA's pages we read carried a last-updated date, so check the live page before acting. For resits after a fail see our ACCA resit policy guide, and for adjustments see ACCA's additional support page.
How to protect yourself
Book the exam only when you have the study time. Note the standard entry deadline and the 14-day window the day you pay. Keep your confirmation emails. If you may need to move an on-demand exam, ask your centre for its rules in writing before you book.
