Online ACCA study with named qualified tutors, an AI study assistant, and transparent monthly pricing.

Why study ACCA with Learnsignal

We're an online ACCA provider run by ACCA-qualified tutors. Our students sit the same papers at the same global sittings as Kaplan and BPP students. The difference is the route they take to get there.

Pass rates and student outcomes

We track every student who sits with us against the global ACCA pass rate for each paper. The data lives in our LMS and it's what drives how we update study plans each sitting. If our students underperform the global average on a topic, we rebuild that module before the next sitting. Ask us for the current sitting's numbers and we'll send them. For the global pass-rate picture across all 13 papers, see our ACCA pass rates breakdown.

Tutors (named, with credentials)

Every paper on Learnsignal is taught by a named, ACCA-qualified tutor. You can see who's teaching before you enrol. They mark your mocks personally, not via a call centre, and they answer your questions in the platform.

AI tutor — how it actually helps you study

Our AI tutor runs on top of the official ACCA syllabus and the teaching material our tutors write. When you're stuck on a question at 10pm the night before a mock, you ask it. It answers using the same textbook-and-past-paper context your human tutor would, not a generic chatbot pulling from the open web. It won't replace the tutor. It will save you from sitting on a confusion for three days waiting for a reply.

What's in the ACCA course

The ACCA qualification has three exam levels, an ethics module, and a practical experience requirement. You need all four parts to become a member.

Applied Knowledge — 3 papers

The foundation. Available as on-demand Computer-Based Exams (CBE) at your local centre.

  • Business and Technology (BT)
  • Management Accounting (MA)
  • Financial Accounting (FA)

Most students clear Applied Knowledge in the first year. If you have a relevant degree or prior qualification, you may be eligible for ACCA exemptions at this level.

Applied Skills — 6 papers

The working accountant's toolkit. Session-based exams (March, June, September, December).

  • Corporate and Business Law (LW)
  • Performance Management (PM)
  • Taxation (TX)
  • Financial Reporting (FR)
  • Audit and Assurance (AA)
  • Financial Management (FM)

Strategic Professional — 4 papers (2 essentials + 2 options)

The membership gate. Two papers are compulsory for every ACCA student:

  • Strategic Business Leader (SBL), a four-hour case study. ACCA releases pre-seen material (the company scenario you'll work with) in advance of the sitting, so you walk in having already analysed the business. The unseen requirements are released on exam day.
  • Strategic Business Reporting (SBR)

You then pick two of four options:

  • Advanced Financial Management (AFM)
  • Advanced Performance Management (APM)
  • Advanced Taxation (ATX)
  • Advanced Audit and Assurance (AAA)

Pick options that match the career you want, not the ones you find easiest. Recruiters look at this.

Ethics and Professional Skills module

An online module that you complete between Applied Knowledge and Strategic Professional. ACCA requires it before you sit SBL or SBR. ACCA's own research shows students who complete the module before attempting SBL have a 25% higher success rate at SBL.

Practical Experience Requirement (PER)

36 months of supervised, relevant work experience in accounting, finance, audit, or a related technical area. You record it against nine Performance Objectives: five Essentials that every ACCA student must complete (ethics, stakeholder relationships, personal effectiveness, and so on), plus four Technical objectives that you pick from a pool of 17 (financial reporting, audit, tax, performance management, and others). The four Technicals let you tailor PER to the job you actually do. A workplace supervisor signs each off. You can start collecting PER before, during, or after your exams. Most students complete PER in parallel with Strategic Professional.

How long does the ACCA course take

The honest answer: three to four years for a student starting fresh. Faster with exemptions. Longer if you're working full-time and sitting one paper per session.

Standard route — 3 to 4 years

Four exam sessions a year (March, June, September, December) and two papers per session gets you through the 13 exams in just under two years. Add PER and Ethics and most students reach membership in three to four years total.

With exemptions — faster

If you already hold a relevant degree or professional qualification (AAT level 4, CIMA, ICAEW partial), ACCA may award you ACCA exemptions for some Applied Knowledge and Applied Skills papers. That can take a year off. Exemption decisions come from ACCA directly, not from us, Kaplan, or anyone else.

Studying while working — what's realistic

Most of our students study while holding down a full-time job. One paper per sitting is realistic. Two is possible with a disciplined schedule. Three is not recommended unless you have unusual amounts of study time, because the tutor-marking pipeline and your own energy cap out.

How much does ACCA cost in the UK

ACCA itself charges registration, subscription, and exam fees. On top of that, you pay a tuition provider for teaching. Here's the breakdown.

ACCA Global fees

Paid directly to ACCA. These are not negotiable and apply whether you study with us, Kaplan, BPP, or self-study.

FeeAmount (GBP)When
Initial registration£89One-time, at sign-up
Annual subscription (2026)£140Every year, due before 1 January

Exam fees rise for late entry. Sit early-entry when you can. See our ACCA exam timetable for the current deadlines.

Tuition fees — what providers charge

This is where comparison matters. Classroom providers in London and the South East typically charge £700–£1,200 per paper. Online tuition providers range from £200 to £600 per paper when priced per-paper, or from £25 to £100 per month on subscription pricing.

Total cost over the qualification — realistic ranges

Assuming no exemptions, a standard three-year route:

  • ACCA Global fees: roughly £1,800–£2,100 (registration + three annual subscriptions + all exam fees + Ethics module, first-time passes)
  • Tuition: £600–£900 with Learnsignal on the quarterly plan, £2,000+ with classroom providers
  • Resits and retakes (if needed): each Applied Skills resit is another £155, each Strategic Professional resit is £202–£274

Realistic total for a first-time-pass student with Learnsignal: £2,400–£3,000. With classroom tuition: £4,000–£6,000.

How you'll study with us

Live and on-demand video lessons

Every paper has a full set of on-demand video lessons mapped to the ACCA syllabus. Watch at 1x, 1.5x, or 2x speed, on mobile or desktop. Live sessions run before each sitting for exam technique and debrief.

Tutor-marked mocks

Mocks are marked by your named tutor, not auto-graded. You get a written feedback report against the ACCA marking scheme. Most students sit two full mocks per paper before the real exam.

AI tutor — answers your questions during study sessions

Built on the same syllabus your tutor teaches. Ask it why the answer is B, why your working gave a different number, or what the examiner is looking for in a 12-mark question. It shows its reasoning. You still review with your human tutor for anything high-stakes.

Mobile and desktop study

Native iOS and Android apps. Download lessons for offline study on the commute. Progress syncs across devices.

Who Learnsignal is for (and who it isn't)

You'll do well with us if:

  • You're a working professional studying around a job
  • You're a distance learner in the UK, Ireland, South Africa, or an English-speaking market without local classroom options
  • You want transparent monthly pricing instead of a per-paper quote
  • You're happy studying digitally and engaging with tutors through a platform rather than in a room

We're not the right fit if:

  • You need face-to-face classroom teaching in London or another major city. Providers like LSBF or BPP have physical campuses we don't try to match
  • You want a university-accredited ACCA degree pathway. That's a different product
  • You're a corporate buyer looking to onboard 50+ trainees on bespoke terms. Contact us, but larger classroom providers will likely offer more operational support

Fit matters more than price. If classroom is what gets you to exam day, pay for classroom.
